एकी केली हातोफळी | ठाया बळी पावले ||१||
आम्ही देवा शक्तिहीनें | भाकुं तेणें करुणा ||२||
पावटणी केला काळ | जया बळ होतें तें ||३||
English
1. Ekee kelee haatophalee, thaaya balee paavale
2. Aamhee deva shaktiheene, bhaaku tene karuna
3. Paavatanee kela kaal, jaya bal hote te
4. Tuka mhane veeryaveer, santadheer samudra.
Translation
1. Many sadhus and saints have transcended this material ocean by only clapping with their hands in their love for God (during a bhajan we have a practice to clap with the hands in rhythm.) They have become one with God.
2. But, my God! We are not we are not so powerful, not so strong! We are very weak and so we will only beg for your mercy.
3. Sadhus and saints who had the power; they have put the deity of death (Yama) under their feet. (They have placed Yama at the step to their house and they climbed up by stepping on him; meaning they have conquered death).
4. Tuka says, these sadhus and saints are very brave. They are the bravest among the brave and they are like an ocean of courage.
