Tukaram Gatha Abhanga 30

महारासी शिवे | कोपे ब्राम्हण तो नव्हे ।।१।। 
तया प्रायश्चित्त कांहीं | देहत्याग करितां नाहीं ।।२।।
नातळे चांडाळ | त्याचा अंतरीं विटाळ ।।३।।
ज्याचा संग चित्तीं | तुका म्हणे तो ते याती ।।४।।

English

1. Maharasi sive, kope Bramhan to navhe
2. Tayaa prayashchitta kahee, dehatyaag karitaa nahee
3. Naatale chandal, tyachaa antaree vitala
4. Jyachaa sang chittee, Tukaa mhane to te yatee

Translation

This abhanga is about avoiding anger.

1. A person whose heart touches anger (which is referred to as Mahar, which is a cast), is not a Brahmin.
2. Even the punishment of quitting the body will not absolve him.
3. One should never allow the demon of anger to come near him, because this demon's heart is filled with impurity.
4. Tuka says, a man becomes what he has in his mind. If he allows the cast 'anger' to reside in his heart, then he will be if the same cast (anger).
