Tukaram Gatha Abhanga 53

English
  1. Nene gaane kanth nahee ha suswar, ghaalu tuze bhaar Panduranga
  2. Nene raag vel kaal ghaat maat, tuze paayi chitt thevee devaa
  3. Tukaa mhane maj chaad nahee janaa, tuj Narayanavachuniyaa.
Translation
This abhanga teachers us how much humbleness one should have. In spite of being a great poet and a very accomplished kirtankar (a person giving a mass sermon with many stories about God and devotional songs), he is so modest. We can also understand the deep devotion of Tukaram maharaj through this abhanga.
  1. God, I neither know the art of singing nor is my voice sweet (He will I be able to please You)? I will entirely lean on you for saving me.
  2. I don't know the ragas of music. I have no knowledge of the appropriate times for singing ragas. I neither know rhythm nor do I know tempo in singing.
  3. Oh God, I prostrate at Thy feet with all my heart.
  4. Tuka says, oh Lord Narayana, I don't have any desire for anyone else apart from you.

With this I take your leave. Hope you liked it!!
Thanks!
