सावध झालों सावध झालों  । हरीच्या  आलों जागरणा ।।१।।

जेथें वैष्णवांचे भार । जयजयकार गर्जतसे ।।धृ ।।

पळोनियां गेली झोंप । होतें पाप आड तें ।।३।।

तुका म्हणे तया ठाया । वोल छाया कृपेची ।।४।।

English

1. Sawadh zalo sawadh zalo

Harichya aalo jaagarana

2. Jethe vaisnavanche bhaar

Jayjaykar garjatase

3. Paloniya geli zoap

Hote paap aad te

4. Tuka mhane taya thaya

Vol chhaya krupechi

Translation

This abhanga is about spiritual awakening and the benefits of being in the company of devotees of God.

1. By the grace of Lord Krishna I have woken up and have come to a place where there is bhajan and kirtan of Hari (Bhajan and kirtan are two forms of worship, in group, in which there is chanting of God’s name and telling stories about him).

2. At that place large groups of devotees of Lord Vishnu (Vaishnav) were loudly chanting the Lord’s name.

3. Just by looking at them my sleep fled away from me and whatever little sin had remained in me, got atoned.

4. Tuka says, at such a place there is an ever present abundance of the deep shade of blessings of the Lord.

So, here Saint Tukaram or Tukoba is expressing his gratitude to God by whose grace he was awakened. He says that it happened in the company of the devotees of God.
