Translation
Tukaram maharaj is giving an assurance to the devotee that everyone who chants the Lord’s name will be freed from the reapeated journeys of life and death.
- Let us find the path on which the enlightened devotee's have gone ahead of us and follow them.
- Let us bow down at their feet (literally, the dust on their feet) and eat their leftover food. (This is an expression of humbleness and respect for the great ones. By saying that we will eat their leftover food, it is felt and conveyed that we will also be blessed become pious like them). We will burn all our past karmas.
- We will make store this invaluable capital (of access to the feet of the great ones). For the unsheltered people like us, Lord Vitthal is our protector.
- We get all good things by contemplation on Lord Govinda (Krishna) and by chanting His name.
- This proven path will be easily beneficial to you. You will escape from the repeated journeys of life and death.
- Tuka says, let us tear away the illusion that we are a jeeva (with a body that can die) and return to our real home (of oneness with God).
