Tukaram Gatha Abhanga 24

जन विजन जालें आम्हां । विठ्ठलनामा प्रमाणें ।।१।।

पाहें तिकडे बापमाय । विठ्ठल आहे रखुमाई ।।२।।

वन पट्टण एकभाव । अवघा ठाव सरता जाला ।।३।।

आठव नाहीं सुखदुःखा । नाचे तुका कौतुकें ।।४।।

English

1. Jan vijan jaale aamha, Vitthalnamaa pramaane
2. Paahe tikade baapmaay, Vitthal aahe Rakhumai
3. Van pattan ekabhav, avaghaa thav sarataa jalaa
4. Aathav naahee sukhadukhaa, nache Tukaa kautuke

Translation

In this abhanga Tukoba is describing the ecstatic state experienced by him as a God realized person.

1. Even while staying amidst all the people, I am experiencing the same pleasure as I would get in solitude in a jungle. All this has happened as a result of my chanting of Lord Vitthala's name.
2. Whereever I look, I see the images of Lord Vitthala and Mother Rakhumai (another name for Rukmini, Krishna's consort).
3. Now, I have an equanimous feeling towards a city or a jungle. Lord Vitthala is everywhere, so it doesn't make a difference.
4. Immersed in this experience of oneness, my heart has
   forgotten the concepts of happiness and sorrow. I am just dancing with a feeling of contentment (self satisfaction).
