Tukaram Gatha Abhanga 2 - Naye tuj jari - नये जरी तुज मधुर उत्तर

In this abhanga you can see how Tukoba is handling his mind. He is strongly instructing his own mind.

Translation 

1.     Oh mind! You may not be able to praise the Lord in a sweet voice. May be God hasn't given you a melodious voice.

2.     But God is not starving for that. Chant Rama Krishna in the tone that you can. 

3.     Lovingly ask God to give you devotion and deepen your love for Him with trust and deep emotion.

4.     Tukaram says "My mind, every day you must make this determination stronger and stronger".

Marathi Text

नये जरी तुज मधुर उत्तर । दिधला सुस्वर नाहीं देवें ।।१।।

नाहीं तयाविण भुकेला विठ्ठल । येईल तैसा बोल रामकृष्ण ||२||

देवापाशीं मागें आवडीची भक्ति । विश्वासेंशी प्रीति भावबळें ।।३।।

तुका म्हणे मना सांगतों विचार । धरावा निर्धार दिसेंदिस ।।४।।

English
1.     Naye jari tuj madhur uttar, didhala suswar naahi deve
2.     Naahi tayaavin bhukela Vitthal, yeil taisa bol Ram Krishna
3.     Devaapaashi mage awadichi bhakti, vishwaseshi preeti bhaavbale
4.     Tuka mhane mana sangato vichar, dharava nirdhar disedis.
