काय नाहीं लवत झाडे । विसरे वेडें देहभाव ॥१॥
जया न फळे उपदेश । धस ऐसें त्या नांव ॥२॥
काय नाही असत जड । दगडं तो अबोलणा ॥३॥
तुका म्हणे कुचर दाणा । तैसा म्हणा डेंग हा ॥४॥

1. Kaay naahee lavat jhaade, visare vede dehabhaav
2.
Jaya na fale upadesh, dhas
aise tya naav
3.
Kaay nahee asat jad, dagad
to abolana
4.
Tuka mhane kuchar daana,
taisa mhana deng ha
Translation
1. Trees bend when there's a strong wind. Don't they? A mad man
forgets his body consciousness. Doesn't he?
2. A person who cannot understand and digest a good spiritual advice,
can be called a dumb or irrational person.
3. A stone is a heavy thing which cannot speak. Isn't it?
4. Tuka says, sometimes we find a grain which didn't get cooked
at all, when we are cooking food. Similarly, this stupid man will never pursue
and settle in the spiritual path.
