किती या काळाचा सोसावा वळसा । लागला सरिसा पाठोपाठीं ॥१॥
लक्ष चौऱ्यांशीची करा सोडवण । रिघा या शरण पांडुरंगा ॥२॥
उपजल्या पिंडा मरण सांगातें । मरतें उपजतें सवेचि तें ॥३॥
तुका म्हणे माळ गुंतली राहाटीं । गाडग्याची सुटी फुटलिया ॥४॥

1. Kitee yaa kaalaachaa sosaavaa valasaa, laagalaa sarisaa paathopaathee

2. Lakshya chauryaaainsheechee karaa sodavan, righa ya sharan Panduranga

3. Upajalyaa pindaa maran saangaate, marate upajate savechi te

4. Tuka mhane maal guntalee raahaatee, gaadagyaachee sutee futaliyaa.

 

Translation

1. How long must we endure this cycle of birth and death? Wherever we go, it relentlessly follows us.

2. Therefore, surrender to Lord Pandurang (a form of Lord Vishnu) and free yourself from the cycle of getting born in 8.4 million different species.

3. For a body that is born, death is inevitable, and immediately after death, another body comes into being.

4. Tuka says, just as pots tied to a water wheel go down empty and come up full of water, but only the pot that breaks is freed from that cycle, similarly, only by surrendering to Lord Pandurang can a person find liberation.
