Translation
1. Just as a diamond retains its true
nature even after enduring the blows of a hammer - and it is precisely this
unchanging quality that gives it value and leads the world to accept it. In the
same way, when a person does not lose their true self despite facing repeated
attacks from the world, their worth becomes evident, and even God accepts them.
2. With the help of knowledge, one should break
the foundation of ignorance that supports accumulated (sanchit) and current
(kriyamana) karmas, and surrender the body to destiny (prarabdha). Then, even
if the body experiences pleasure or pain, the mind remains unaffected due to
its union with knowledge, and no sorrow arises within.
3. Where there is an opportunity to receive
honor and recognition, one should deliberately choose to face dishonor and
insult instead. One should criticize the body composed of the perishable five
elements and the five sense objects. By doing so, attachment to honor, respect,
the body, and the sensory pleasures no longer remains.
4. Tuka says, once such a state is firmly
established within, how can worldly attachments trouble that person? That
person becomes what they admire. If one has great respect for God, they become
one with the Divine and experience true joy.
