Translation
1. Oh God! I will continue to do the profession that has come
into my life. But let my faith always remain at Your feet.
2. Oh Giver of all, You have bound us to action
(karma). So what power do we really have before You? Only after carrying the
burden of worldly life will we find rest.
3. But please, do this much for me. Let this
body go on doing its duties in the world, but do not let my mind lose the
secret of seeking You.
4. This restless body will keep dragging me from
one place to another. It won’t let me stay in one spot. But please don’t let
laziness enter my mind, when it comes to thinking about You.
5. Let the senses carry on with their own
business, but please give my love a place for rest at Your feet.
6. Tuka says, Oh God! Do whatever You wish, but do not hand
me over to the deity of death. That’s why I have come to You with folded hands,
in deep surrender.
