Honoured to bring to you a few words from the composer himself — Kedar Pandit.

On the occasion of the release of the first abhang from Abhang Echoes, we are honoured to bring to you a few words from the composer himself — Kedar Pandit.

When this project was just taking shape, we knew we wanted to collaborate with artists who were not only talented but deeply honest in their craft. One of the first names that came to mind was Kedar ji’s.

A true professional, blessed with musical brilliance and rare sensitivity, working with him has been both a blessing and a privilege.

We can’t wait for you to hear what magic he has created.

Gatha Abhang 950 - Chintane sare to dhanya dhanya kaal

Marathi Text

Roman Script

2. Sansaarsindhu naahee hareedaasaa, garbhawaas kaisaa nenatee te

3. Janavan aise krupechyaa saagare, daatalaa aabhaare Pandurang

4. Tuka mhane devaa bhaktaache bandhan, daakhavile bhinna paree ek.

Translation

1. The time a person spends thinking about God is truly blessed. That time is the best of all good times.

2. Devotees of God are not afraid of the ocean of worldly life. They don't know what it's like to be in the womb.(They will not get reborn. They have achieved Liberation).

3. Those devotees, who are full of God's grace, see all people, forests, and even all living things as forms of God. Lord Pandurang is overwhelmed by the weight of their selfless devotion.

4. Tuka says, God is bound by His devotees. Devotees have control over God. The physical differentiation (because of the limitations of 3 dimensions) have created a difference between them. But in reality, both are one and the same.

Gatha Abhang 949 - Aashaa trushnaa maayaa apamaanaache beej -

Gatha Abhang 949 - Aashaa trushnaa maayaa apamaanaache beej

Marathi Text

Roman Script

1. Aashaa trushnaa maayaa apamaanaache beej, naasiliyaa pujya hoeejete

2. Adheeraasee naahee chaalo jaataa maan, durlabh darshan dheer tyaache

3. Tuka mhane naahee aanikaasee boal, vaayaa jaay moal buddheepaashee.

Translation

1. Hoping for subjects of senses, excessive desire for pleasure, and being in love with things are like seeds that grow into disrespect. If a person gives these up, they become respected.

2. But if someone doesn't have the courage to give them up, they won't get respect anywhere they go. However, it's rare to even see someone who has the courage to give these things up.

3. Tuka says, these words of mine are not for people who are controlled by hope, desires, and other such feelings. Because no matter how much you tell them, it's wasted. But for thoughtful people, my words have real value.

Gatha Abhang 948 - Bhaktaachaa mahimaa bhaktachi jaanatee

Marathi Text

4. Taalghol kathaa premaachaa sukaal, moodh lokapaal taraavayaa

5. Tuka mhane he to aahe tayaa thaave, teehee ekyaa bhaave jaaneetalaa.

Translation

1. The greatness of devotees is understood only by other devotees. It's impossible for others to grasp that state.

2. Even though they are knowers of the ultimate reality (Brahman), they humbly set aside any pride in their knowledge. They are happy with Self-Realization and, with a spiritual mindset, they mostly remain silent, speaking only when necessary for worldly matters.

3. Even though they have experienced oneness with the ultimate reality through their spiritual vision, they maintain practical distinctions in the world to increase the joy of devotion. To uplift ignorant people, they sing the stories of God amidst the sound of cymbals and create an abundance of devotion and love in the world.

4. Tukā says that only those who have known God with a sense of unity will understand this state of devotees.

Gatha Abhang 947 - Jeev tochi dev bhojan te bhaktee -

Gatha Abhang 947 - Jeev tochi dev bhojan te bhaktee

Marathi Text

Roman Script

1. Jeev tochi dev bhojan te bhaktee, maran techi mukti paakhaandyaachee

2. Pindaachyaa poshake naagavile jana, latike puraan kele veda

3. Manaa aalaa taisaa karitee vichaar, mhanatee sansaar naahee punha

4. Tuka mhane paathee udatee yamadand, paapapunya landa na vichaareetee.

Translation

1. In the opinion of hypocrites, the body itself is God. Eating is devotion, and death is liberation.

2. In this way, by prioritizing the nourishment of the body, these atheists have deceived simple and innocent people by giving them perverse knowledge and have tried to convince that the Vedas, scriptures, and Puranas are all false.

3. Hypocritical people, without any basis in evidence, think of acting however their minds please, and they say that it is not possible to be reborn after death. (Therefore, as long as we are alive, we should eat, drink, and dress, even if it means taking out loans. We should indulge the body in as many ways as possible.)

4. Tuka says that atheists who disregard sin and virtue now will face Yama's punishment in the future.
